Transoft Solutions Reasserts Commitment to Students and Civil Engineering


    /Engineering News Articles/ - VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, February 01, 2008 - With a successful showing at the Transportation Research Board of National Academies' (TRB 87th) Annual Meeting held in Washington DC from January 13 - 17, Transoft Solutions reasserts its commitment to promoting civil engineering field to all students.

In addition to showcasing the AutoTURN Challenge and their entire line of productivity enhancing engineering design software, representatives from Transoft Solutions made great efforts to speak with as many of the students in attendance at the TRB Annual Meeting to discuss the civil engineering field and ways in which to generate greater interest. With declining enrollment in civil engineering in recent years, Transoft Solutions has been working hard to create greater awareness of opportunities that students can expect from the industry, including the development of a scholarship. The attending team was very encouraged by the number of students participating this year and they are optimistic that more students will be drawn to similar events throughout 2008.

Commenting on the TRB Annual Meeting, Transoft Solutions CEO, Milton Carrasco remarked, "In the next few years the demand for civil engineers is going to grow too fast for schools to keep up with at the current rate of enrollment." Mr. Carrasco added, "Since our company's inception, we have been enthusiastically committed to students in order to create greater interest in civil engineering. Meeting with as many students as we have at TRB is a positive sign that the numbers [of students enrolling in civil engineering] will grow."

According to Mr. Carrasco, Transoft Solutions has pledged to continue to find new channels through which to develop greater interest in civil engineering and encourage greater numbers of students, especially women, to explore the opportunities within the industry.
