EnergyCrossing Adds About 3,500 Energy Jobs in July; Energy Professionals in Great Demand
With the demand for energy professionals continuing to grow, EnergyCrossing (www.energycrossing.com) aims to add every energy job opening to its website. In July alone, the company added about 3,500 energy jobs, an increase of 170% from the month of June.

/Engineering News Articles/ - PASADENA, CA, July 31, 2008 - Despite the current economic slowdown, energy professionals remain in great demand. EnergyCrossing has continuously added more jobs to its roster in order to ensure that every job opening from this sector is available for job seekers.

"Lately, the demand for skilled energy professionals is robust. There have been reports of a talent shortage in the energy industry by the US Department of Labor. In fact, the energy industry accounts for 4% of the nation's gross domestic product and employs more than one million workers nationwide," says A. Harrison Barnes, CEO and founder of EnergyCrossing.

Recently, the US Department of Labor announced a $10 million award toward to fund 11 projects that will provide potential workers with skills-based job training to enter careers in the energy industry. The funding ranges from $394,933 to $1,151,287 in the following 11 states: California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

According to the agency's reports, overall growth in the energy industry is stagnant due to the shortage of skilled trade and construction workers. There is a need for energy professionals to build new infrastructure, install equipment, operate facilities, and make repairs to the existing systems.

"EnergyCrossing is a hub for serious job seekers hunting for quality energy jobs. Since we do not charge employers to post jobs on our site, we list the most authentic and exclusive job listings from top employers. To meet the increasing requirements of the energy industry, we have created a platform where the best talent gets the opportunity to apply for the top companies," adds Barnes.

EnergyCrossing seeks out, edits, approves, and tracks an elite collection of energy jobs on an ongoing basis. The website is private, and only members have access to its exclusive job listings. Additionally, the website is backed by a very powerful search technology which allows job seekers to search for energy jobs by location, job title, keyword, and various other search functionalities.

In the month of July, the job titles that received the most searches on EnergyCrossing were:

• Engineer jobs (3,560)
