Richard J. Karas noted for 20 years of excellence with Rexam
AURORA, IL, June 6, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Richard J. Karas, who recently retired as Patent Agent and Research Engineer from Rexam, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of product development.
Mr. Karas enjoyed a fruitful 20-year career with Rexam, a packaging company formerly known by the name American Can. As patent agent and research engineer, he was in charge of coating and can design and plastic formulation. During his time with Rexam, Mr. Karas managed to have several products patented for the company. He began his career there as a chemical engineer and attributes his rise through the ranks to his hard work.
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Mr. Karas received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant. He is affiliated with the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the USA and gives generously to the American Red Cross. An avid sportsman, Mr. Karas enjoys bowling and golfing; he has two 300 games to his credit in bowling and has hit two holes-in-one in golf.
