GHENT, BELGIUM, August 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ghent, Belgium, 2-12 of August, 2009 - Board of European Students of Technology, an international students' association, organises their first European BEST Engineering Competitions' Final.
EBEC ( European BEST Engineering Competition ) is the final and most grandiose part of the Engineering Competitions organised by BEST all over Europe, having the first edition this year. Nowadays, Engineering Competitions are the most popular BEST events among young engineers, offering them the opportunity to express their creativity, compete and face with realistic problems of industry or management.
This event gathers 80 top-level students that passed through the local, then national and regional Engineering Competitions, organised by BEST in their own countries and regions. More than 3500 students from 51 universities in 18 countries participated in the first level of the Competition.
United Nations is cooperating with the organisation on this project, by providing a real life topic regarding climate change for the participants to work on. The best solution will be implemented on a large scale by United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), an extra motivating factor for the participants.
BEST is also proud of being an official partner of European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.
During the closing day of the event (the 11th of August), you will have the opportunity to take part at the press conference at 13h30, the testing of the machines and the award ceremony, and also the chance of interviewing the winnners.
