As Director of Grouting and Foundation Works Australia PL, Lees has soared to the peak of his industry.

Lees has complied over 25 years of valuable experience throughout his illustrious career. His interest in mining and rock collecting led him to studying Mining at Camborne School of Mining in the United Kingdom where he earned an MSC in Engineering. He then began his journey as a Mining Engineer in the deep gold mines of South Africa. David continued forward when he was responsible for the design of tunnel projects for London Underground. From there he moved on to be appointed as Resident Engineer for a water storage cavern in Jersey.

His experience in the United Kingdom led to the opportunity to emigrate to Australia with the Snowy Mountains Engineering Company in 1995, where he has worked on a wide variety of major civil projects since. He subsequently established Grouting and Foundation Works Australia in 2004 with his close friend and colleague Derek Edwards. Unfortunately, Edwards passed away a year later of Pneumonia leaving David to maintain the company on his own.

Grouting and Foundation Works Australia acts as a specialist geotechnical contractor providing expertise in grouting and ground treatment. They are focused on supplying practical, innovative solutions for in-ground and underground engineering projects. Expert service is provided by them in improvement through grouting of soft ground, controlling rock water through rock grouting and waterproofing of structural concrete. They also have relationships with several independent specialist contractors to supply specialized drilling, piling and ground anchor installation.

The company is based in Sydney and operates throughout NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania, Western Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.

David has established himself as an Author as well. His novel, Terror Under Sydney is currently available from Amazon.com. He also just completed publication of a book for the Australasian Tunneling Society titled The History of Australasian Tunneling.
