Speed Probes from Rowe Hankins to Enter Chinese Rail Market
The Chinese rail industry will invest an estimated 292 billion US dollars by 2020. To win a share of this, UK rail engineers, Rowe Hankins, has concluded a licensing agreement with Nanche Electric Equipment Company of Changsha.

BURY, ENGLAND, May 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Chinese rail industry will invest an estimated 292 billion US dollars by 2020. To win a share of this, UK rail systems engineers, Rowe Hankins, has concluded a licensing agreement with Nanche Electric Equipment Company of Changsha in Hunan province. The agreement, for the manufacture under licence of the Rowe Hankins' Hall-effect speed probe, will be mutually beneficial. Rowe Hankins will be supplying kitted parts from the UK for local assembly by Nanche, who will also provide full technical support.

Export manager for Rowe Hankins, Tim Allard, explained, "The potential is vast. Most of the major rail engineering companies that we work with in the rest of the world have already set-up joint-ventures in China. They want to use proven and familiar rail safety technologies such as Rowe Hankins speed probes. By working with Nanche we can meet these needs competitively and ensure that our products have full local engineering support."

Nanche Electric has grown rapidly since its foundation in 2002. The company manufactures and supplies primary condition sensors for speed, voltage, current, power and pressure as well as integration devices to convert primary data to instrumentation outputs. The company do not currently produce a western specification Hall-effect speed probe so this is a useful addition to their catalogue.

Mr Jiantoa Peng, vice general manger, and Mr Shiyong Liu from Nanche visited Rowe Hankins in February for initial technical discussions. A further executive visit is planned, when it is expected that representatives from the Chinese Ministry of Railways will also visit the Bury factory.
