James A. Markfort Jr. receives Professional of the Year Award for committed excellence in Business Systems Management

Minneapolis, MN, November 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James A. Markfort Jr., Sr. Business Systems Analyst and Project Lead for Zimmer Spine, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Business Systems Management. While inclusion into the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year. These special honorees are chosen based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.

Distinguished by his high level of drive and determination, as well as his ability to balance and marry knowledge, creativity, innovation and pragmatism into his work, James A. Markfort Jr. has achieved a level of success in his 10 years of experience that some could only wish to achieve in a lifetime. Mr. Markfort currently serves as the Sr. Business Systems Analyst and Project Lead for Zimmer Spine, a prominent global leader in orthopedic implants, spine surgery innovations and medical devices. Now celebrating his second year with the company, Mr. Markfort channels his prior experience into his current role. Mr. Markfort previously held the position of Business Systems Analyst II with LSG Sky Chefs, a catering subdivision of Lufthansa Airlines. During his tenure with the organization, he analyzed processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most cost effective business systems processes, infrastructure, and applications to meet the organization's needs and business goals. He also designed and established system panel specifications and objectives based on business requirements and cost effectiveness, and provided recommendations to management personnel.

Mr. Markfort's background in business systems has uniquely positioned him for his role with Zimmer Spine. He excels in project management, as well as organizational integrations and migrations, application development and deployment, and business process streamlining due to new and expanding business development and acquisitions. On a daily basis, Mr. Markfort interfaces with key business units, including marketing, finance, human resources, manufacturing, engineering, regulatory and quality in multicultural areas. He also devises strategies and utilizes a variety of LEAN manufacturing methodologies and technologies to best forecast organizational strategic intent.

Mr. Markfort is currently pursuing a Masters in Project Management at the Keller Graduate School of Management. Additionally in June of 2010, he attained his MBA with a focus in Information Systems Management, also from Keller. In March 2008 he graduated Cum Laude from DeVry University with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Information Management Systems from NEI College of Technology in the fall of 2002. Mr. Markfort is also a certified Microsoft SQL Server Engineer, although he is not currently active, and is in the midst of becoming a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) - titles he intends to secure by 2012.
