John Law Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
John Law to be featured in "Cambridge Publishing's Top 101 Industry Experts"

CALCIUM, NY, March 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --John Law, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in engineering and business management.

A retired mechanical engineer, John Law is currently juggling numerous ventures and can be found in his private machine shop bringing ideas to life. Presently he is designing a lock for a particular type of door and doing patent drawings for some friends. He also continues to build prototypes for inventors.

Most of us benefit from Mr. Law's work almost every day, since he has worked in a variety of fields including the manufacturing, aircraft and paper industries. He developed the modern toothpaste tube for Alcoa, Inc., the aluminum foil pie pan, as well as several Kirby vacuum cleaner components. In 1955, he was chosen from 2,800 engineers at Pratt & Whitney to develop a nuclear airborne reactor.

Mr. Law came from a family of schoolteachers; both of his parents and his brothers and sisters are all in the education field. When he was about 12 years old, a New Jersey state test revealed that he had a very high IQ and he was sent to Columbia University to study on the college level. He spent a year there until a skull fracture derailed his plans. Mr. Law went to trade school and studied mechanical design and tool and die making. He transferred his credits from Columbia to Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and also attended Fairleigh Dickenson University, the City College of New York and the University of Hartford. Eventually, he followed in his family tradition of education and taught at the Pratt Institute and the Mechanic's Institute in New York City.

Though his expertise is in mechanical equipment design, Mr. Law considers himself a champion bicycle rider. He averages 95 miles per day in the mountains and 140 miles per day in the plains. Since beginning, he has taken three cross-country bicycle trips by himself, which last for approximately three months. "I went out to California and back on my bicycle in 1990," he claims. When he isn't designing or taking a tour of the country, Mr. Law enjoys spending time with his three children, John, Edgar and Sarah. Recognized for professional excellence, Mr. Law was chosen by Cambridge Who's Who for publication in its "Top 101 Industry Experts."
