Robert Melchiorre lends nearly 30 years of experience in software development, technical leadership and project management to Cadence Design Systems, Inc

ALLENTOWN, PA, March 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Robert Melchiorre, Director of Technical Field Operations for Cadence Design Systems, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in engineering and project management.

With 28 years of experience in the field of software development and expertise in microchip design, marketing, technical leadership and people and project management, Robert Melchiorre was promoted to the position of director of Technical Field Operations at Cadence Design Systems in 2006. Currently, he manages a team of application engineers to bring quick closure to customer issues and provide pre- and post-sales tool support. He also performs technical account management duties for large enterprise accounts and is credited with organizing and managing a cross-organizational team to develop design flows using the Cadence tool set. He previously held the positions of Technical Account Manager at Cadence Design Systems, Strategic Marketing Manager at Agere Systems, Product Marketing Manager at Lucent Technologies and ADS Release Project Manager at AT&T Bell Labs.

Mr. Melchiorre's long-time interest in the field of engineering and his instrinsic enjoyment of hands-on work led him to earn a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at Temple University in 1981 followed by a master's degree in electrical engineering at Lehigh University in 1992. In recognition of dedicated service and professional excellence, Mr. Melchiorre was honored with the Technical Account Manager of the Year Award in 2002

In his spare time, Mr. Melchiorre volunteers as a computer badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America and donates to the Cathedral Church of Saint Catharine of Siena. He also participates in a rock band that performs for weddings and parties, and in a heavy metal band.
