David Breen honored for over 30 years of contributions to the field of construction management

SAMMAMISH, WA, April 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Breen, Manager of Construction Management for the Northwest Region Office of Harris & Associates, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in design and construction.

With over three decades of experience in engineering and project management, David Breen is uniquely positioned to oversee construction management services for Harris & Associates. During the 1970s, he worked with UOP in Des Plaines, Illinois, where he served as a design engineer. While there, he designed refineries for a diverse spectrum of domestic and international clients. Breen went on to work with the firm's construction project management department, where, he says, he got his first real taste of the industry - with assignments in St. Croix, Ecuador, Russia and Japan. Primed by his working knowledge of construction and operations management for both domestic and international projects in the industrial, commercial and public works sector, Breen joined Harris & Associates.

Breen currently manages a staff of 25 professional project and construction managers, office engineers, inspectors and administrative assistants on behalf of Harris & Associates' Northwest Region Office. He expertly oversees all regional projects and is responsible for contract negotiation and administration, as well as project outline development, budget oversight and client relations. In 2008, Breen served as the construction manager and project director for the Brightwater Marine Outfall project, which earned eight project awards for excellence in design, construction and construction management.

A graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1972, Breen earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He is a registered professional engineer and certified construction manager. His professional affiliations include the American Public Works Association and the Construction Management Association of America. Looking to the future, Breen intends to play a role in the development and expansion of the Northwest Region into a larger and more comprehensive entity, recognized for its ability to consistently deliver world-class construction management services.
