Verander Kumar Chawdary has been an engineering manager in several countries

CALGARY, AB, Canada April 6, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Verander Kumar Chawdary, P.Eng., Technical Leader for Kearl Oil Sands Project (of Imperial Oil Limited and Exxon Mobil Corporation) has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in engineering.

With 23 years of professional experience, Mr. Chawdary is responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of each project, solving technical problems and coordinating multi-discipline engineering, overseeing the quality of engineering design, ensuring projects are ready on time and are under the budget, maintaining team integrity and supervising engineering contractors of approximately 200 per team. As he has been an engineering manager across the world, including Singapore, Japan, the Middle East, India and China, he has gained vast experience working for such companies as SNC-Lavalin, Foster Wheeler, Chiyoda and Technip. He began as a technical leader in the joint venture company in July 2009 and has been recognized on almost every project he has worked on.

Currently pursuing his project management professional certification, Mr. Chawdary received his Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology in 1987 and a certification as a professional engineer in 2009. He is a member of the Project Management Institute, Inc., the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He became involved in his profession because of his technical skills and interest in working on inventions. He attributes his success to his flexibility, adaptability and ability to look for solutions. In the future, he intends to work on new developments in the oil and gas industry and become president of the company.
