Laverne I. Smith Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Laverne I. Smith was inspired by her colleagues to become a materials engineer for the Clarkson Aerospace Corp.


HOUSTON, TX, June 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Laverne I. Smith, Materials Engineer for Clarkson Aerospace Corp., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in materials engineering.

As a materials engineer for Clarkson Aerospace Corp., Laverne I. Smith is responsible for the synthesis of proprietary composites, designed by Senior Materials Research Engineer Baburaj Eranezhuth of Clarkson Aerospace, Corp., that will enable the development of lighter and stronger materials for the United States Air Force. She became involved in her current profession because of the collaborative experience gained from noted researchers Brian L. Goodall, Ph.D., Alex Ignatiev, Ph.D., and Bobby L. Wilson, Ph.D. in the fields of energy and catalysis, and Chau Nguyen, Ph.D. and James K. Meen, Ph.D. in the field of materials characterization. She attributes her success to her hard work, communication skills, and to her faith while continuing to encourage others to achieve in their own endeavors.

Ms. Smith received her Master's Degree in Chemistry from Texas Southern University in 1997. She is a member of the American Chemical Society.
