A manager of technical skilled hourly and professional individuals and technical program administrator, Darrell J. Vigil has 35 years of professional experience in his field. In his position with Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, he excels in all functions of industrial maintenance technologies including fabrication and welding of various exotic metals and welding processes. At his current post, he is responsible for administering a "Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship" program in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor, he manages a "Pay for Skill and Knowledge Program" and applies Six Sigma technologies in implementing equipment reliability projects and improvements. Mr. Vigil notes that he became involved in his profession due to his natural talents as a technical expert, leader and manager. He attributes his successes to his steadfast determination and self-motivation.
Mr. Vigil earned a Bachelor of Integrated Studies (BIS) Degree which includes three disciplines; Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Design Graphics Engineering Technology and Professional & Technical Writing from Weber State University. He is professionally affiliated with the Pinnacle Honor Society Weber State University Chapter.
Mr. Vigil became a certified Six Sigma Green Belt through the Harrington Institute Inc. and received Apparent Cause Analysis Certification (ACA) as well as a Customer First Green Belt Certification from Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. Additionally, he earned a certification through the manufacturing engineering programs of the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and became a certified welder through the American Welding Society in multiple areas of certification.
