Abe D. Placido celebrates 20 years as a plan check engineer for the City of Oakland

OAKLAND, CA, September 3, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Abe D. Placido, Civil Engineer for the City of Oakland, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in civil engineering.

With 20 years of experience as a Plan Check Engineer for the City of Oakland, Abe D. Placido is responsible for ensuring Building Code requirements and other related codes and ordinances as per the specifications of the City of Oakland. Abe also has some experience in Public Works Engineering as he worked as a Civil Engineer in the same jurisdiction prior to his assignment as a Plan Check Engineer.

Before working as a civil engineer, Abe worked as a mechanical engineer with Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco, California, De Laval Turbine in Oakland, California, and The Boeing Corporation in Seattle, Washington. Abe also has served as a professor in FEATI University and Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines.

Mr. Placido received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Civil Engineering from the Mapua Institute of Technology, located in the Philippines. He is a member of Associations for the Advancement Mechanical and Civil Engineering.
