EDMONTON, AB, CANADA, January 15, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who welcomes Stephen Poole to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of his outstanding work in in all aspects of water and wastewater engineering. As a Senior Engineer with EPCOR Water Services for the past 28 years, as well as throughout his incredible 37 year career, Mr. Poole has consistently demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.

Established in 1903, EPCOR Water Services is an integrated water utility that provides safe reliable water and wastewater services in Edmonton and numerous partner communities, with a focus on the protection of public health and environmental responsibility. In 1996, EPCOR became an arms-length company, wholly owned by the city of Edmonton, enabling them to provide services to numerous partner communities outside the municipality.

Mr. Poole is responsible for providing technical support, supporting water distribution and overseeing operations. He also provides maintenance to smaller communities' water systems. His knowledge and experience has considerable breadth and depth. Over the course of his professional career, Stephen has been the source of much accomplishment. He has initiated shiftwork and health training for plant operators and other shiftworkers in the water utility to give them the tools to cope with the challenges of shiftwork, protect, and improve their health as well as quality of life. He also initiated continuous monitoring of key water quality parameters to improve process control, performance and reliability. In addition, Stephen replaced outdated remote control system with a modern SCADA system using PC and PLC technology. He has also devised and promoted numerous awareness campaigns and initiatives.

During his educational career, Stephen earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Lancaster in 1973. He also has professional qualifications in Alberta and the United Kingdom at APEGGA; Institution of Civil Engineers. In addition, Mr. Poole is a Chartered Engineer. Stephen supports the performing arts as Treasurer of the Full Moon Folk Club.
