BOSTON, MA, July 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Daniel D. Do-Dai, Chief of Neuroradiology at Tufts Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Do-Dai considers becoming the chief of neuroradiology at Tufts Medical Center to be the highlight of his medical career. This is no small statement when taking into account the numerous achievements he has experienced in his two decades as a health care professional. A native of Vietnam, he was inspired by a doctor he met in a refugee camp when he was a teenager. He moved to the United States in 1979 and pursued studies in chemical engineering and medicine.
In 1986, Dr. Do-Dai graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. He earned an MD from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1990 and went on to complete a residency in diagnostic radiology at Madigan Army Medical Center and a fellowship in Body Imaging and a second fellowship in Neuroradiology at Tufts-New England Medical Center. Additionally, he earned certification from the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic radiology with an added qualification in neuroradiology.
Dr. Do-Dai served in the U.S. Army for eight years, during which time he achieved the rank of major and worked as the chief of ultrasound while stationed at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. His service was recognized with a number of honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Overseas Service Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in 1998. While serving in the army, he had several publications in radiology journals.
Prior to returning to Tufts Medical Center, Dr. Do-Dai was a partner in a successful private practice group, Blue Ridge Radiology at Bristol in Tennessee. However, he felt called to work in an academic environment. In addition to continuing his affiliation with Tufts University School of Medicine as an assistant professor, he assumed the role of chief of neuroradiology. He performs neuroradiological diagnostic imaging of the brain, head, neck and spine using various methods, including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), CT and MR angiography and perfusion, diffusion tensor imaging with fiber tractography and functional magnetic resonance imaging. Dr. Do-Dai has special interest in brain and spine tumors.
Dr. Do-Dai maintains membership in many medical associations, including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Society of Neuroradiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, and The American College of Ethical Physicians. In the years to come, he plans to continue on his current path, and he will undoubtedly encounter further professional highlights along the way.
