Earl Williams Dedicates his Career to Helping Others through Psychotherapy
For 32 years, Mr. Williams has guided individuals toward positive thinking and feeling
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA, August 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Earl Williams, LCSW, Counselor and Therapist, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in psychotherapy.
Born at the tail end of the Great Depression, Mr. Williams searched far and wide for a way to contribute to the world, even in a small way. He studied engineering, but realized his desire to work with people as a counselor and teacher was much stronger than his inclination to work with "things." He then spent six years studying for the priesthood before entering the field of social work as an employee of Los Angeles County. At this time, Mr. Williams was selected to participate in a master's program that enabled him to perform field placements in mental hospitals, and it was then, he says, that he "came to understand the problems that people often struggle with." He obtained licenses as a clinical social worker and marriage and family therapist while continuing to work for the county, spending 24 years in the area of child welfare.
Now in private practice, Mr. Williams possesses 32 years of experience as a psychotherapist. His office in Fountain Valley, Calif., is conveniently located for residents of Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Westminster, and Garden Grove. The psychotherapy services he offers encompass individual counseling, marriage counseling and family counseling. Mr. Williams specializes in anger management, parent-child conflict, mood disorders, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and communication issues. By stressing a cognitive behavioral approach to anger management, psychotherapy, and marriage counseling, he is able to examine how clients think, encourage them to change their thinking, and help them take more control of their lives and feelings.
Mr. Williams holds a Master of Social Work from the California State University in Fresno and a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, which he obtained from St. Johns Community College. As passionate as ever about helping others, he intends to continue growing his practice in the years to come.
