PAINTED POST, NY, August 5, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lura S. Heichel, Operations Level II Engineering Supervisor for Corning Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in network operations.

As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Army Reserve, Ms. Heichel is known for her perseverance and strong work ethic. She has cultivated her management expertise in technical team development, training, and consolidation throughout her three decades of professional experience. For the past two years, she has served as an operations level II engineering supervisor for Corning Inc., a manufacturer of specialty glass, ceramics and related materials for industrial and scientific applications. Ms. Heichel's position entails overseeing a network operations center responsible for system monitoring, service delivery, and project results sustainability for teams located in the United States and Taiwan.

In 2004, Ms. Heichel earned a master's certification in project management and information technology project management from Villanova University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in network engineering and an associate degree in electrical engineering technology. Prior to joining Corning Inc., she was a network operation and support supervisor for Verizon. Ms. Heichel is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, Sullivan Park Crisis Management Team, and participant with the Diversity Council of Corning Inc. Looking toward the future, she intends to focus on developing and streamlining processes for high level activity including crisis response, global service outages, and client account auditing of IT services.
